As we finish up the term I want to congratulate our students on how well they have started the year and for their efforts in ensuring they are working to the best of their ability.

Parent Teacher Evening, 31 March 4-7pm

We hope that parents are able to take this opportunity to meet briefly with teachers to check in on how their children are going and to make any adjustments needed to support their learning.  Information is also available through Connect, which includes results for assessments.  Academic reports will be available at the end of Semester One.

Parent Information Evenings

This term we have held information evenings for our Year 7 and Year 12 parents.  We hope that the information provided has been helpful and really value having this opportunity to keep connected to our families.  We thank all the staff who have been involved in these, and also to three of our 2020 Year 12 students who returned to provide words of advice to our current Year 12 parents.  Thank you to Chamoda Idamgedara, Tara Fitzgerald and Adrian Cowin for giving up their time to give back to their school.

House and Interschool Swimming Carnivals

Congratulations to all those who participated in the House Swimming Carnival earlier this term.  It was a wonderful day with perfect weather.  Thank you to all our parent spectators for providing such a community feel and to our organising and supervising staff. 

Following this House Carnival, our school participated in the Interschool ‘B’ Division Swimming Carnival and finished a respectable 7^th.  Congratulations to Drew Mann (Year 12) and Megan Schwinkowski (Year 8) for being Champions in their year groups.

World’s Greatest Shave

Once again our school has participated in this worthy cause.  It was great to see so many students colouring their hair and those students and staff who shaved their head to raise funds for those facing blood cancer.  A special mention must be made to Sari Oliver who raised $5244 for the cause and our Year 10 student leaders who raised $567 from their cake stall.

Harmony Week

Week 7 saw our school celebrate Harmony Week.  Congratulations to our student councillors and staff who coordinate the fun activities for the week.  A special mention must be made to Lauren Johnson who was the organiser this year in collaboration with our wonderful Languages team.

NAPLAN online

NAPLAN is back on again this year after being cancelled due to COVID in 2020.  Some preparations are under way to test online systems and students will participate in a load test during Week 8.  NAPLAN is scheduled to run during Week 4 and 5 next term.  We encourage students to use their own devices where possible to ensure they are familiar with the technology.

School board update

I am pleased to announce the new members of the school board are Shireen Pivac, Tammy Winterbourn and Peter Rudolf as our parent representatives.

Your Move Schools

Our school has now achieved Bronze accreditation with Your Move Schools based on the work of the Sustainability Committee in 2020.  Congratulations to all those involved and I know that this group are working on many initiatives around the school that positively impact our environment.
