Welcome everyone to Year 7 at Kalamunda Senior High School.  Everyone seems to be settling in very well and I’ve been super impressed with the student’s start to high school.  There is a lot to learn in the first few weeks, but all the children seem to be finding their way to their classrooms and around the school site.  Some new friendships are already starting to form which is lovely to watch.

Our Values Week activities started in Week 2 at Bickley Outdoor Recreation Centre and back at school.  The school values are respect, pride, resilience, love of learning and community and the children demonstrated all of these values and are continuing to do so.  They all seemed to enjoy the activities on offer and the teachers were very grateful for the lovely weather.  I was amazed by the adventurous nature of some of the children trying new challenging activities at Bickley.  They are much braver than myself!

This term is very busy for the students with Swimming Trials coming up on 14^th March and NAPLAN later in the term.  In addition, the students will be having in school assessments during the term.  You will be able to access the subject programs and assessment schedule on Connect so you are aware what is being studied during class time. 

I have included a table below of the different clubs and activities that are on offer at school.  Please ask your child to see their mentor teacher if they would be interested in attending.

I am very excited to be the Year 7 Coordinator this year and I look forward to getting to know and work closely with the students and parents to ensure a smooth and successful year for everyone.
