Principal's Report
I would like to extend a warm welcome our new families to the school. We have had a smooth start to the year so far and students have settled back into routine well.
Congratulations to our Class of 2024
Our Year 12s continue to do us proud and last year was no exception. Last year we had a WACE achievement rate of 92%, above that of the state average (90%).
Seventeen of our students received a SCSA Award of Distinction or Merit and many of these students received the Principal’s Award at the end of 2024.
Marc Rouillard and Deveryn Stillisano received a Certificate of Distinction and Certificates of Merit went to Amelia Bell, Brooke Daljac, Jaxon Dullard. Phoebe Duncan. Jake Dunne. Lachlan Ellis. Savannah Friday, Ane Greyling, Leah Kuckelkorn, Joshua Rogers, Sidney Rudas, Brianna Salinas, Manami Teo, Amelie Tuohy, and Lucas Yeates.
85% of our students completed Year 12 with a Certificate II, III or IV and 40% of our ATAR students received an ATAR over 80.
Congratulations to all our Class of 2024, and we wish them well as they begin their next chapter in their lives.
Welcome back to our Italian Exchange student
We welcome back Darcy Hart who participated in the Italy tour (8 week exchange at the end of the year and over the Christmas holidays). She really enjoyed her time in Sardegna, attending school and exploring Italy. Thank you to Maria Pennington for all her support for this program and the students participating.

Building update
Progress has continued well over the school holidays with our building program. Works were completed near Design and Technologies to break into the new teaching block, and good progress has been made on the teaching block.
These before and after photos show progress since this time last year.

We were very excited to start the year in our new Visual Arts Centre. It is a spectacular building both inside and out. The students are really enjoying being in the new building.
Year 7 Values Week
I enjoyed visiting the Year 7 classes during the Values week to hear first-hand how well the students have settled into high school and present them with their school badge. During the week they enjoyed 2 days of activities at the Bickley Outdoor Recreation Centre to help demonstrate and build on our school values of Pride, Respect, Resilience, Love of Learning and Community. They also spent time at school having an induction to the library, some of our support services and getting their BYODs connected to the network.

Year 7 Swim trials and House Carnival
Year 7 swim trials are coming up on Friday 14 March in preparation for our Swimming Carnival on Friday 21 March. This event is competitors only and parents are welcome to come along as spectators on the day.
P&C news
We have an active P&C with a dedicated and enthusiastic group of parents. They would love you to join them and they meet twice a term on a Tuesday at 6.30pm. The upcoming meeting on Tuesday 18 March will be their AGM.
One of the main functions of the P&C has been managing the school canteen. This term the canteen will be transitioning their online ordering from Quikcliq to Spriggy Schools. You can find the link on the school website under the parents tab.
Connect
This is our main communication hub for our class teachers and year and program coordinators to place important information with each year group having their own page. A term calendar is also available on the school website and will be updated each term.
Contributions and Charges
I would like to thank those families who have already paid their school charges and contributions. For some families it might be easier to make arrangements to pay the balance over the year via a payment plan. Please contact our manager of Corporate Services, Natalie Robertson to finalise your account or to set up a payment plan. These funds are used to pay for teaching materials to deliver high quality programs for your child. All tuition, staffing and infrastructure costs are provided by the Department of Education.
Welcome to our new and returning staff
This year we have some new staff joining our school and we welcome Annaliese Tempest and Jeff Fu (Maths), Fiona Patten and Gi Soo Han (Science) and Connor Musto (D&T).
We also welcome back Emma Potts (Maths) from her leave in 2024 and welcome Ami Munekata as our new Language Assistant in Japanese this year.
Wishing everyone all the best for the term.
