On 26 April I attended the opening of the AGWA West Australian Pulse exhibition for Year 12s (previously known as Pulse Perspectives). Sophie Catchpole was in attendance with her painting “Bare Necessities”, a beautiful oil painting of a modern day shearer working at his job on her family farm. In addition to our Dux representing Kalamunda SHS, my own daughter was there in her capacity as a member of the AGWA Youth Advisory Panel. Charlotte spoke to the crowd of students, parents and teachers. She spoke expertly from the heart about her art journey, and she did not forget to credit her parents. It was a good night. The exhibition is open to the public until 24 July.
